BUSH LAKE RESIDENCE
When an unexpected fire destroyed a home on Bush Lake, the tragedy became a catalyst for an exciting transformation. Peter Crain helped the homeowners navigate the complex insurance process and developed a plan to rebuild the home on the existing foundation with a new, modern floor plan that makes the most of the views of the lake. Using innovative modern floor joists and trusses, Peter simplified the roof lines to create a clean, modern silhouette and added reverse board and batten detailing on the gable ends to elevate the exterior. The new home, which was showcased on the 2025 AIA MN Homes by Architects Tour, features a soaring vaulted integrated living room, kitchen and dining area, a luxurious guest bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and other thoughtful spaces.
